Napa County Supervisor Belia Ramos is the new president of the Association of Bay Area Governments.

Ramos was sworn in Friday in San Francisco along with Berkeley Mayor Jesse Arreguin, who was inaugurated as vice president of the organization for a second time. ABAG is the regional planning agency for nine Bay Area counties.
Ramos served the last four years as vice president. She was elected to the Napa County Board of Supervisors in 2016 and reelected in 2020, after serving six years on the American Canyon City Council.
Arreguin served on the Berkeley City Council beginning in 2008, until his election as mayor in 2016. Before city council, Arreguin was elected to the city’s rent stabilization board in 2004. Arreguin’s first term as vice president of Association of Bay Area Governments began in 2018.
Both Ramos and Arreguin will serve two-year terms.
