The Sonoma County Sheriff’s Office will be hosting its “Pack the Patrol Car” toy collection and resource fair this week, ahead of the holidays.

Friday’s event will take place from 2 to 5 p.m. at the sheriff’s main office at 2796 Ventura Avenue in Santa Rosa.

Community members are encouraged to participate by bringing a new unwrapped toy for donation, such as gift cards to eateries, coffee shops, bookstores, movie theaters, and clothing stores; sports equipment; art supplies; small electronics; Legos, board games and puzzles; and makeup, fingernail polish, and other grooming supplies.

Items donated during the event will be distributed in the community through local charity organizations before Christmas, according to a sheriff’s news release.

The event will also offer information about local resources including mental health services, code enforcement, law enforcement, and fire protection services.

More information on the event can be found on the sheriff’s website.
