Donations are rolling in for a beloved pregnant pre-school teacher who was killed after a tragic hit-and-run crash last week in South San Jose.
As of Monday evening, the GoFundMe account set up for 21-year-old April Marie Zoglauer had raised nearly $24,000. According to the fundraiser page, the money will be used for funeral expenses, medical expenses and her family.
Zoglauer was taken to a hospital with life-threatening injuries and died on the night of Oct. 24, and her child was successfully delivered after emergency surgery. The child, however, died the next day.
“April was a cherished preschool teacher and beloved by all her students,” according to the GoFundMe account.
San Jose police on Monday said a teen who was allegedly driving a stolen car involved in the tragic accident has been arrested.
The 15-year-old is suspected of driving a white Hyundai sedan that ran a red light and hit a black Nissan sedan driven by Zoglauer, about 8:42 p.m. on Oct. 24 near Blossom Hill Road and Winfield Boulevard.

Police said the Nissan driven by Zoglauer had been headed east on Blossom Hill when it was hit by the Hyundai that ran a red light while headed south on Winfield. The intersection is near Oakridge Shopping Center.
Two males in the Hyundai ran from the car after the wreck, police said. The Hyundai was an unreported stolen vehicle.
Detectives identified the 15-year-old driver of the stolen vehicle, and he was arrested on Saturday and booked into Santa Clara County Juvenile Hall.
