Members of the San Ramon Police Department will run the 10k race in the 2023 San Ramon Valley Education Foundation Run for Education on Oct. 8, and the officers are calling on the public for support.
People can choose to sponsor the San Ramon police running team, with all donations going directly to the Education Foundation, said San Ramon Police Chief Denton Carlson.
“We are incredibly proud of our outstanding relationships with organizations like the San Ramon Valley Education Foundation and their unwavering dedication to creating a positive educational environment for youth throughout the San Ramon Valley Unified School District,” Carlson added.
The Run for Education, now in its 40th year, is the primary fundraising activity for the San Ramon Valley Educational Foundation. It is a community event in the San Ramon Valley that includes participants, volunteers and spectators from all 35 San Ramon Valley Unified School District schools, representing the communities of Alamo, Danville and San Ramon.
The Run for Education is also the largest run that supports education in Northern California, according to the Education Foundation’s website.
