The San Mateo County Board of Supervisors has voted unanimously to raise waste collection rates in unincorporated areas of the county for some customers by as much as 4 percent.

Collection rates in most areas served by the South Bayside Waste Management Authority, also known as RethinkWaste, will go up by 4 percent, while residents in North Fair Oaks will see a 2 percent increase for certain garbage and recycling carts.
