Prevent package thieves from spoiling your holidays with some simple security measures

Now that you’ve found those great online deals on Black Friday or Cyber Monday, Milpitas police are offering tips for shoppers who don’t want to deal with package theft and mail fraud this holiday season.

Authorities say people should pick up mail immediately after it is delivered. If you are not home, ask a trusted neighbor to watch for packages and pick them up right after delivery. If you share mailboxes in an enclosed area such as apartment complexes or townhomes, ensure all doors are locked when you leave so unauthorized visitors do not have access to the shared space.
