Fire damage caused by electrical malfunction won’t interrupt Meals on Wheels deliveries

A weekend fire that damaged the Walnut Creek headquarters of Meals on Wheels Diablo Region won’t impact meal deliveries, the group said this week.

But the offices will be closed for the foreseeable future, thanks to smoke, water and fire damage, executive director Caitlin Sly said. The group said the fire that erupted early Saturday was likely caused by a faulty light panel.
