Local leaders say ‘misguided’ Supreme Court ruling on EPA deals climate change setback

CALIFORNIA LEADERS EXPRESSED concern after the U.S. Supreme Court ruled Thursday that the federal Environmental Protection Agency does not have broad authority to regulate greenhouse gas emissions from power plants under the Clean Air Act, undermining the fight against climate change.

The response was over the court’s decision in West Virginia v. EPA, which was led by a 6-3 conservative majority and written by Chief Justice John Roberts.
