Kaiser Permanente mental health clinicians in the Bay Area and the Central Valley are gearing up for a a one-day strike this week amid ongoing contract negotiations and what union officials allege is poor care for patients.

A total of about 2,000 clinicians will stage pickets this Friday outside Kaiser Hospitals in San Francisco, Santa Rosa, Oakland, San Jose, Sacramento, and Fresno.
