Oakland citizen committee begins task of redrawing council, school board maps

These days, when someone in Oakland talks about their "Plan B," they could be referring to this map — one of four proposals for how Oakland's City Council districts should be reconfigured. Oakland’s inaugural Redistricting Commission is inviting public comment on new proposed City Council and school board district boundaries.

The commission held its first meeting this month and plans to meet two more times — Nov. 10 and Dec. 8, both at 6 p.m. — to receive comment on the proposed districts.
