The Berkeley City Council has approved a $82.6 million settlement with the University of California that drops lawsuits challenging long term development projects the campus is pursuing.

In a closed session this past Tuesday, the council voted 8-1 to accept the settlement, in exchange for agreeing to drop two recent lawsuits it filed against the university.
