Lafayette accepting applications until Aug. 12 to fill council seat vacated by Cameron Burks

The Lafayette City Council is looking for a new member to fill the vacancy created by the June 29 resignation of Cameron Burks, who left the council for family reasons with more than three years left on his term.

Per city policy, the council has 60 days, so until Aug. 30, to fill the vacant seat. The winner will hold office until the next regularly scheduled election in November 2022. The new council member will be eligible to run for re-election.
