Fourth of July celebrations often mean increased illegal fireworks usage in Santa Clara County, but with the region’s extreme drought conditions and high temperatures, local leaders are cracking down.
Fire officials from San Jose, Santa Clara County and Cal Fire, along with representatives from the county and Bay Area Air Quality Management District, are reminding residents of the increased environmental risk and fines from illegal firework use.
