The unexpected death of  Chief Executive Officer Bernard Tyson has prompted statements in tribute from elected officials and community leaders.

Tyson, named CEO of the Oakland-based health care giant in 2013, and president of its board of directors in 2014, died in his sleep Nov. 10 at age 60.
