The Golden Gate Bridge, Highway & Transportation District Board of Directors is seeking public input on potential five-year toll increase plans.
Revenue from the toll increase is intended to counter a projected five-year shortfall between $220-471 million, according to the Golden Gate Bridge, Highway & Transportation District website. About half of the agency’s annual toll revenue goes towards the maintenance and operation of the Golden Gate Bridge, with the other half going towards operating Golden Gate Transit and Golden Gate Ferry transit services.
